The Jewish Street: The City & Modern Jewish Writing
with Esther Cohen Hexter
Using the iconic "Jewish street" (die Yidische gas) as a metaphor, editors of The Jewish Street: The City & Modern Jewish Writing have assembled a collection of stories highlighting the complex relationship Jews have forged with city life. This class will explore the diversity and creativity of the Jewish urban experience over nearly five centuries from all over the world. Stories by well known authors and gems by lesser-known writers are included. Everyone is welcome. No prerequisite, only desire to learn. Class fee is $25.
