Join us in the gallery with Peter J. Haas, Abba Hillel Silver Professor Emeritus, in a conversation about Theodor Herzl, who died decades before the State of Israel’s establishment but is considered the country’s founding father. In October of 1891 Herzl was sent to Paris to cover the Dreyfus Affair, an experience that turned him into a Zionist as he envisioned a Jewish homeland. Herzl is famously quoted as saying, “If you will it, it is no dream.” Coffee will be served.
