Welty Building Company Ltd. will be contracted to serve as the construction management firm for the pool renovation project at the Shaw JCC.  The role of the construction manager is to represent the owners through the construction process. Seth Glauberman, a lay member of the building committee expands on the advantages of using a construction management company: “There are a number of good reasons, for using a construction management firm but in my mind protecting and acting in the best interest of the owner and helping reduce overall cost through value engineering, providing oversight and contract negotiation with sub-contractors are at the top of my list”.

The vote was unanimously approved both by the Board of the Shaw JCC and by that of the Jewish Community Board of Akron Welty Building Company Ltd. was selected because of their great local reputation and successful track record in building other aquatics centers here in Akron.
