Documentary filmmaker Ariella Altchouler will share her story as an American-Israeli Jew in a relationship with Amir, an Arab-Israeli Muslim. The film chronicles their ups and downs over the course of a year and a half. As the relationship progresses, the couple gains a deeper understanding and appreciation of one another and their respective cultures. Their lives begin to further intertwine throughout a series of meetings between their families as they navigate through a somewhat unconventional relationship. The community is invited to experience this personal and intimate journey through the eye of the filmmaker as she experiences it.

Two showings will be offered at 11 a.m. & 6 p.m. A Q&A session with Ariella will follow the 15-minute documentary screening. Snacks and beverages will be served. This program is free and open to the community!

Please RSVP to shlichim@jewishakron.org.

Ariella was born and raised in Cleveland. After graduating high school in 2013, she moved to Israel where she attended the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem studying photography. She currently lives in Hafia with Amir and is home visiting with family including grandmother Carol Kushkin.
