Encountering Jewish Culture through Stories, Poetry & Art: 2018 – Part III

Jewish American Writing: Selections Through Time with Esther Cohen Hexter

We will read and discuss selections of Jewish American Writing from 350 years. Our book Jewish American Literature: A Norton Anthology spans from 1645 to the present, including writing in all genres— fiction, poetry, drama, essays, letters, editorials and journals. Do these Jews writing in America make up a literary tradition? If so what defines that tradition? Invite friends to join in discussions; or give contact info to Esther Hexter. Everyone is welcome to join our conversation. No prerequisite, only desire to learn.

Fall 2018 classes offered six consecutive Wednesdays: Oct. 10, 17, 24, 31 and Nov. 7 & 14, 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m.  Classes will be held at the Schultz Campus for Jewish Life in Shaw JCC. 750 White Pond Dr., Akron, Ohio.
