Location

The Jewish Heritage Video Collection is a special collection of nearly 200 videos and television programs with a Jewish content to be viewed at home, serve as a basis of adult Jewish education programs and help trigger meaningful discussion in Jewish schools.

The collection ranges from American Jewish experience to comedy, history, Israel identity and culture. It includes features, documentaries, American and foreign productions.

Curricular materials created by noted Jewish with course guides are available to schools, organizations and congregations in the area.

Created by the Jewish Media Fund of the Charles H. Revson Foundation, the JHVC was purchased with generous grants from the REDD Philanthropic Fund with ALEF (Akron Legacy and Endowment Fund, Jewish Community Board of Akron) in Memory of Eva and Robert Neuschuler. The national matching grants came from the Arrow Family Fund and the Charles H. Revson Foundation.

Jewish Heritage Video Collection Rental Agreement

Videos rented only to persons with FREE JHVC Membership Card. Come to the Educational Resource Center (E.R.C.) to register. Browsers welcome at the E.R.C. Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Videos may be reserved at the JHVC Reservation Line - (330) 835-0080 before 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday for pick up at the JCC of Akron Main Desk 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. weekdays, until 5:00 p.m. Fridays or Sunday. Reserved videos will be held 2 days.

Can Rent up to three (3) titles, for $2.00 each, for three (3) days. Late fees are $1.00 a day per title. Videos not returned after one month will be billed to member.

Videos due back in 3 days after rental, or one day after Shabbat, Jewish or Legal Holidays. Return all videos to the E.R.C. on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and to the Receptionist at the JCC Main Desk at all other times.

Videos must be rewound when returned.

Borrowers are responsible for return of all videos in good condition. Replacement fee^* will be charged for damaged or lost videos. Members cannot borrow additional videos until fee is paid.
(^*Replacement fees are based on actual video cost plus $10.00 processing fee.)

Videos are rented for private home viewing purposes only. Copying, broadcasting and public performance of these tapes are strictly forbidden by law.
