Akron Legacy and Endowment Fund

Just as we make provisions for the safety and security of our own families, so does the family of Jews in Akron
make plans to ensure the continuity of Jewish life in our community.

It just requires planning. And ALEF, the Akron Legacy & Endowment Fund, established by the Jewish Community Board of Akron, can help you make those plans. Through ALEF, you can set up a plan that will ensure that our community receives a gift on your behalf every year, throughout your lifetime and beyond.

By living generously now--and leaving a proud legacy for future generations through your gift to ALEF--you make a commitment to the future wellbeing and security of our Jewish community and to its social welfare, cultural and educational services.

ALEF provides an independent source of funding for community needs not met through the Jewish Community Board’s annual United Jewish Communities/Jewish Welfare Fund Campaign.

Bequests and other planned gifts to ALEF are invested wisely. The income--and under some circumstances, the principal--are then used by the Board and its agencies to respond to emergency needs or to fund programs that enrich community life.

About Us

How ALEF benefits you

Planned giving through ALEF offers many benefits. If you give during your lifetime, you will receive a charitable income tax deduction. If your estate is subject to taxes, a gift made at death will provide a tax deduction. Perhaps most important is the enduring nature of planned giving. You may use the fund to honor or remember a loved one, perpetuating your family name long beyond your lifetime. What’s more, you designate how your gift will be used.
