Akron's Orthodox congregation, established in 1915, provides spiritual
warmth and congenial fellowship for its members and constituent affiliates. Many
religious, cultural and social endeavors: Daily, Sabbath and Holiday Services,
Family Dinners with educational and holiday themes.
Active Women's Chavurah and Men's Club. Education is provided for
children on Sundays and Sabbath services. Teenage students attend the Akron Jewish
Community High School. Affiliated with the Union of Orthodox Congregations of
America.

Established in 1946 and affiliated with the
United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and
the Jewish Theological Seminary of America,
the 550-family congregation is devoted to maintaining Conservative Judaism as a
living and beautiful heritage. Evening and morning minyanim, Shabbat and
festival services, Active Sisterhood, Congregational choir and Junior choir.
Beth El Academy provides comprehensive Jewish education from Kindershul for
pre-schoolers through Bar and Bat Mitzvah. Teens attend the Akron Jewish
Community High School. Youth activities include United Synagogue Youth, Kadima
and Leadership Training Fellowship. The Congregation helps fund participation at
Camp Ramah and the USY pilgrimage to Israel. Adult education includes Torah
Weekend, Hebrew classes, and BETHELNET
Internet discussion group.

Established in 1977 to serve the growing Jewish community in the Akron and
Cleveland areas. Members reside throughout Summit County and neighboring
areas of Cuyahoga, Geauga and Portage Counties.
Temple Beth Shalom is a member of the
Union for Reform Judaism enabling the Temple to offer its
members the benefits of assistance from the central body of the Reform movement.
Members join in worship to celebrate our Jewish heritage and explore the
meaning of the Jewish way of life in the modern world. Friday evening services
are conducted twice each month by our Rabbi and Cantorial Soloist. The Temple
newsletter, The Megillal lists the times and dates of services. An Oneg
Shabbat follows each service.

Temple Israel of Akron, Ohio is the oldest Jewish congregation in Akron, established in 1865. The Reform congregation, which celebrated its 140th anniversary in 2005, has 530 members who share in worship and holiday observances. Adults can partake of weekly Torah Study on Saturday mornings. They can also explore diverse topics in the Temple Israel Academy of Adult Jewish Learning. Young families can celebrate Shabbat together once a month at Tot Shabbat and can learn about the holidays at Homestart. Programming includes monthly Healing Services, Musical Shabbat events and Scholars-in-Residence. The Brotherhood and Sisterhood plan an active schedule of events throughout the year. The Cantor Gedaliah Gertz Education Center offers mid-week Hebrew classes for grades 3-6 and Sunday School for K-8. Teenage students participate in the Akron Jewish Community High School. Tenth graders attend weekly seminars at Temple, prior to Confirmation. Temple Israel is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. Regular Sabbath services are held each Friday evening.
